Detailed knowledge of connector insulation materials and contact materials

Release time:2020-12-09 15:20:00  Views: 1021

  The following is mainly to introduce the connector insulation materials and connector contact material knowledge commonly used in our production and manufacturing, let's take a look at the differences between the materials used in the production of these connectors;

  1. PBT material, the commonly used PBT material is added with 20% to 30% glass fiber, which has the ability to resist cracking, impact, and electricity. It has good wear resistance, low friction coefficient, good lubrication effect, and oil resistance. Good chemical resistance. It still has good dielectric strength under high temperature and high humidity, its shrinkage rate is between 0.6% and 3.0%, its temperature resistance is about 2.0 degrees, it has good formability and flame resistance. Most of the current connector manufacturers are plastic The material is selected as PBT plastic.

  2. ABS material, it has good impact toughness, oil resistance, abrasion resistance, relatively easy to form, good rigidity, rigidity, and its temperature resistance is about 100 degrees. It is generally used for auxiliary products in connectors. on.

  3, LCP material, the temperature resistance of LCP material is between 290 and 320, but its water absorption is large, and it is generally used for products with high temperature resistance and less pitch.

  There are generally two types of connector contact materials, one is brass, and the other is phosphor bronze. How to choose these two materials depends on the type of contact, the frequency of insertion and removal, and the electrical work of the connector. Depending on conditions and environmental conditions, some commonly used connector contact materials and usage are as follows;

  1. Phosphor bronze: Phosphor bronze has a higher hardness than brass, while maintaining longer-term elasticity. It is often used as a material for contacts whose operating temperature is lower than 300 degrees Celsius. It is relatively more frequent for most plug-in and pull-outs. Low, or the contact is in the normal bending of the connector, the use of phosphor bronze can ensure good reliability.

  2. Brass: Although brass is an IDE material with good conductivity, it is easy to deform and fatigue quickly after repeated bending. It is usually used as a fixed connector in a cheap connector or in a connector. For other metal parts inside, connectors with brass contacts should not be used in occasions that require excellent flexibility. Of course, because of the lower cost, brass can still be used as contacts competently in many places.
